Great demands are placed on employees and their families, both at home and on the job. A troubled employee can cost a company thousands of dollars in sick pay, accidents, absenteeism, lost productivity and healthcare claims. The Life Connection (TLC) provides members with coordinated professional services to help balance life’s demands.

We offer customized EAP, work-life and wellness solutions designed to:

  • Reduce absenteeism
  • Reduce presenteeism
  • Improve overall organizational health
  • Offset or contain increasing healthcare costs
  • Increase employee loyalty
  • Lower disability and worker’s compensation claims
  • Educate and train management and human resource staff

As part of your overall risk management strategy and human resource preservation, The Life Connection will encourage members and their families to seek early professional intervention. This will reduce the potential of continued challenges, and escalation of the underlying problem, which in turn may result in costly, long-term treatment and/or job disruption.  The Life Connection is intended to provide help for any personal problem that may adversely affect an employee's health and or job performance.

Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

A predetermined number of counseling sessions is available for assessment, short-term counseling, referral and follow-up services. The EAP is designed to assist members and their families with a variety of work/life problems in areas, such as marital, legal, financial, emotional, stress, substance abuse, grief and loss, work pressures, parent/child conflicts, and communication. The program is available at no cost to eligible members and their family members to encourage early problem identification and resolution.

In addition to the free initial assessment and referral services, we also provide these services to help your clients help their employees:

  • Supervisory Referrals
  • Critical Incident Response

Telephonic Consultations for Legal, Financial, Childcare and Elder Care

Telephone consultations are arranged with licensed/certified professionals for legal advice or representation, financial planning, investments and/or tax consultation, referrals to licensed childcare facilities, or varying types of in-home or agency care for aging family members.

Written Information and Resources

Written materials have been developed that include practical advice on the topic.

Additional resources include low/no cost, easy-to-read books and pamphlets, national organizations with "800" numbers, and local/regional resources in the following areas:

  • Childcare - guides to finding and choosing the right childcare, childcare evaluation checklist
  • Elder Care - the aging process, common mental health issues, elder care evaluation checklist, home and community based services, Medicare and other insurance, support for caregivers
  • Financial Management - bankruptcy, budgeting, buying and financing a home, college financing options, credit management, investment planning
  • Legal Issues - adoption, consumer rights, criminal matters, custody, divorce, immigration, landlord-tenant disputes, wills and probate
  • Life Management - addictions, divorce recovery, domestic violence, grief and loss, mental health issues, parenting assistance, stress management
  • Women's Issues - health concerns, leadership skills for women, managing multiple priorities, self-esteem, time management
